The Open 60 Spirit of Canada and the Spirit of Canada team will be leaving Port Credit Yacht Club this Saturday, August 16th at 9:00 a.m. for the first part of the journey to France and the start line of the Vendee Globe on November 9th, 2008.

 

The team are now in final preparations with many details still to be done. The following five days will be spent sailing down the St. Lawrence River to Caraquet, New Brunswick where the Open 60 will be lifted out of the water and a new racing finish applied to the bottom. After five days in Caraquet, it's on to Halifax for some corporate sailing and sail testing. At this point it is anticipated that Spirit of Canada will leave Halifax for France around September 7th, 2008.
