During The week of August 25- 29^th the Buffalo Canoe Club beach was lined with 72 colorful Sunfish for the Sunfish Worlds. Three Canadian sailors participated in the regattal; Lee Parkhill, Claire Merry and Evan Lewis. These three sailors represented Ontario very well with Lee finishing in 8^th overall and winning all three races of the last day. Evan finished 12^th overall with some top finishes including a 2^nd place finish and several top 5 and top 10 finishes throughout the event. Claire also had a top 10 finish and a strong event.

 

All three sailors arrived at BCC to pick up their boats with no experience in the class. They quickly sorted out all the settings and rigging of the boat and went on to enjoy 4 days of racing with 12 races in total in conditions anywhere from 5 knots to a final day seeing 20 knots and decent size waves.
